I attended Fashion Night Out at Macy’s flagship store in New York (9/6) where they launched the largest shoe store in the world in a newly renovated space. There were oodles of people there as you would expect. It was a sea of flashing lights from the cameras of all the attendees once Micheal Kors was spotted wearing his signature aviator glasses and Anna Wintour outfitted in her signature flawless look stepped into the room. They posed for a few pictures and afterwards Michael Kors stood at the tip of his dedicated section in sweltering hot conditions calling out trivia questions for all of the contestants competing for prizes. I admit I was temporarily caught up by all the excitement and the beautiful environment, although I wasn’t caught up enough to stand in a rather long line for a chance to win items like Macy’s gift cards or Michael Kors items.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t get any closer to take a better shot. The masses of people just wouldn’t permit losing their chance at the trivia wheel or seeing the guest of honor up close.

Most of the shoe brands such as Nine West, Marc Fischer, Vince Camuto etc have bright well-lit sections and they are well represented. There were even a few eye-catching displays.
Madonna’s Truth or Dare section looked very Fifty Shades of Grey – ish

L.A.M.B
There was a fairly small selection of L.A.M.B shoes (hopefully that will change).

Oops ignore my cut off picture. This may have been after the free champagne started flowing.
This area seems to be the piece de resistance. The huge circular couch invites you to take a seat and try on some of the premium shoes that are now being offered by Macy’s.
As stated before in my intial Macy’s shoe news post, Gucci and Louis Vuitton will have their respective spaces in this shoe haven as well. However, they were not open at the time of the launch. I’m not sure if brands like Giuseppe Zanotti, Jimmy Choo and Manolo Blahnik will be a part of the Macy’s roster in the future but for now there are enough shoes to to keep a shoe lover infautuated.
