If you are near or going to be near Florence, Italy run don’t walk to see Salvatore Ferragamo’s ”Marilyn” exhibition featuring items from Marilyn Monroe’s personal closet. As reported by FashionEtc, the exhibition includes 30 pairs of her shoes and over 50 outfits worn on set and in her personal life. Salvatore Ferragamo designed over 40 pairs of shoes for Marilyn Monroe, which he has purchased back and they are on display in this exhibit. This year marks the 50th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe’s death and the exhibit displays how much a style icon that Marilyn Monroe truly was.

Marilyn wore a size 7 shoe (in USA sizing) and one of her most famous pairs called the “Marilyn” worn on her movie, Seven Year Itch, is displayed in all of its red glory. The exhibit will run from June 2012 to January 2013.
