If you are on a budget and want to splurge on an investment shoe, consider selecting a timeless versatile shoe. Hopefully, you can wear the shoe a few seasons with just the occasional re-heeling and/or replacing the sole. With a timeless shoe you should just be able to freshen up the look of the shoe with an updated outfit. Take a look at the Christian Louboutin Snakeskin Lady Daf on Kim Kardashian last year versus Lala Vazquez yesterday (3/28). Both ladies look beautiful and timeless in this shoe even though it’s almost a year’s difference in the date of these pictures.
When I am choosing an investment shoe at full price, I generally stay away from a trendy shoe. This allows me to get a longer wear time out of the shoe. Here are a few of my choices.
1.) Tory Burch “Reva” available at Tory Burch ($235)
2.) Edmund Castillo metallic d’orsay pump available at Saks ($685)
3.) Jimmy Choo “Lance” available at Jimmy Choo ($675)
When I want to purchase a more trendy designer shoe, I purchase from Yoox, Bluefly or Last Call Neiman Marcus. My rationale is if I splurge on a trendy shoe and it goes out of style then at least I didn’t pay full price.
