2011 is ending on a shoe high note. Several trends were sizzling hot this year and several well, were luke warm. One of my favorites was color blocking. I guess the conservative side of me likes a predictable shoe but my alter ego likes to shake things up a bit. Color blocking is the perfect solution for me and my Sasha Fierce! There were so many shoes to pick from that did color blocking especially well and there were numerous price points. I think this trend is still really good and I’m toasting for an even better 2012 (for color blocking).

Did lace up booties and boots make a splash in 2011? I’m not so sure this trend made a splash or just a slight ripple. I’m riding the waves just seeing where this trend goes.

I’m going to temporarily be Glenda, the good witch, or maybe the bad witch but I think I’m mentally prepared to stop seeing gold glitter shoes. Gold glitter shoes had their moment but it’s time to move on to the next great shoe! It’s just my opinion of course. If you want to click your gold heels, I say click and be happy!

Exotics prints such as snakeskin, faux snakeskin and leopard shoes call my name frequently. I like the texture snakeskin gives a shoe and the color variations. Call me team snakeskin and I’m an honorary member on team leopard also. I hope both trends stick around.

Heel less heels isn’t that an oxymoron statement? Either way I know my limitations and I stay within them. I love to stand upright instead of being horizontal wishing I wouldn’t have fallen. As a result heel less heels didn’t make my “best of” to be purchased list in 2011 due to the that tiny detail that my feet aren’t always as graceful as my brain.

Bright colors that provide the fun of tropical flavored skittles still amuse me. Call me colorful but I like a little excitement even if it only happens to be a shoe that I am wearing. I hope the new spring and summer collections continue to drain the rainbow of all its colors. I know I’m being slightly selfish with the rainbow but in all actuality I’m not. I figure I can be like Oprah at least in my head “you get a shoe”, “you get a shoe ” and “you get a shoe”. Just follow my links like the yellow brick road to purchase the shoes I post.

Fantastic article, really enjoyed reading it! Totally agree with you about the “heel less heels” – not something I would ever try because I’m convinced I’d fall & break a leg if I did wear them! Also with you about the glitter shoes – they were more of a passing trend, nice while it lasted but not versatile or classic enough to stay around long term!
Love colour block shoes myself for something a little different & funky in my footwear collection! Happy New Year, here’s to a wonderfully stylish & successful 2012, xoxo
