Next up—-The High Heeled Loafer!

September 6, 2011

The loafer is back with a vengeance!!

Back in my day (ugh can’t believe that I am saying that but) I was a truly preppy dresser. I loved Polo shirts and all things seemingly preppy. Now I believe the updated terminology may be Americana but don’t hold me to that because over the years my style has evolved so I haven’t stayed in that lane.  Fashion has evolved as well but if you notice a lot of time the evolution is a twist on something from the past. With that said nothing is more signature to the voice of Preppy aka Americana as the loafer.  This season’s version of the loafer is a chunky high-heeled version.  Even if you aren’t the preppy type you can still add a loafer to your Shoe Closzet.

The Tory Burch shoe below is solely responsible for me doing this post. I have to admit they caught my eye!! I like the preppy with an edge look! P.S The tassel is another trend that has shown up in numerous Fall collections as well as the chunky heel.

I like a shoe with a little interest but if you’re more inclined to keep the loafer basic, here are a few affordable options from Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s, Nine West and Enzo Angiolini.

HAHAHA love the loafer forever! Coincidentally purchased a Nine West everyday heel just this evening! LOVE the Tory Burch featured – did you see the imitation at Lela Rose for Payless? Very nice! Thanks for posting – you got the eye Kim!

Yes I did see the Lela Rose shoe. I think the color contrast of the Tory Burch shoe is what I love. Glad you liked my selections!
